That is the correct ruling, assuming the third pitch was in the strike zone.
A pitch at which the batter does not swing, and which any part of the ball passes through any part of the strike zone is a strike.
A foul ball is a strike if the batter didn't already have two strikes. Note, a foul bunt is a strike regardless of count, and could be a strike three.
But the rules themselves are 2.00 STRIKE, and 6.05(b-d,f)

Provided that the third pitch is in the strike zone, then yeah, that's right. A fouled ball is a strike, but you can't strike out on a foul unless you bunt it.

Yes, fouls count as a strike until the third strike then in baseball i believe you can foul as many times as you want.

Yes, strikes are strikes whether you foul or not. However, if you have 2 strikes on you and you foul, that is not an out.
