Pillowcase "Finished Surfaces" - Stain Remover?

I want to get a stain off one of my pillowcases, so I thought i'd give it a long soak in some fabric stain remover.

But when I looked at the instructions for soaking, it says "Do not soak fabrics with finished surfaces".

I'm wondering what they mean by "Finished Surfaces", my pillowcase is half plain white but the other half has a raised silver leaf pattern on the other half.

So is the fancy raised silver leaf pattern on the pillowcase a "finished surface"?

I'd better not soak it until i find out.

I think it is the manufacturer.s get out clause. If the pillow case is ruined anyway, try it you have nothing to lose. I have washed garments that say dry clean only, for example and they have turned out fine.

    No don't soak it

    Turn the pillowcase inside out

Then apply a pre wash stain remover

Use a sponge to press this through the stain on the other side

    This will push the out

Apply some more then wash according to label

Could you just soak the stained part . Try scrubbing it gently with some stain removing soap first . Good luck perhaps do It a few times with the soap and rinse thoroughly . Sometimes the soap lightens the stain enough.
