what does tuner malfunction mean?
I am looking at upgrading my radio and I found a Kenwood KDC-BT855U on eBay, and its really cheap. It is listed as for parts/not working. The description says it has a "Tuner Malfunction" what does tuner malfunction mean? Is it a simple fix or is it something more serious that the Kenwood manufacturer would have to fix?

tuner malfunction means that it cant receive any local stations there is an issue with the circuitry used to receive FM & AM stations.
it may be an easy fix - just replace some circuit board components- but those "simple parts might cost more than the stereo - candle costing more than the funeral- so to say.
the other components of the stereo like Cd player and Auxiliary line in as well as pre outs may also be affected.
save up and buy a new stereo

As the "parts/not working" label indicates it is not economically repairable. The people who would want to buy it would have a bad one of the same model and need a part, like the face, from it.
