The social climate was that the Jerusalem was an occupied country. Occupied by the Romans(Italians). The social climate was that the King of the Jews, Herod, heard that Jesus wanted to be king and needed him dead.
Economically There were high taxes demanded of the Roman Government so people had to pay a lot of their earnings to the Roman government (Sound like Colonial AMerica?)
Politics was that the Romans were in charge and there was little justice for the Israelites(Jews). and as we saw Jesus was sent to the cross for healing someone on the Sabbath.
