hit and run accident and filing a false police report in michigan what is the jail time?
what are the jail sentences on filing a false police report, hit and run accident with minor injury, dui third? and not showing up for his court date a year ago all occured in Lapeer county michigan. I know that the person who did this is back in michigan now and need to know what his charges and jail time would be if the police catch him? I have the whereabouts of where he is and don't know if I should call the police and tell them or not? Or just wait until he screws up again and gets caught without me alerting the police? What should i do about that?

Don't be a grass mate just keep quiet and mind your own business. As you said, it was a minor injury, doesn't make it OK mind you, but let the police do their jobs.
Keep out of it.

A bench warrent has been issued, Any police department in the country if he is stopped he will be arrested. If he tries to renew his Id he will be arrested His license has been suspended, and he will not be able to renew in any state period,I doubt it is a active case, but he is in the system, and eventually will get caught.Depending on the state three strikes your out law will take effect,Manditory jail time, since he has chosen to run and .hit an run is a serious crime injury involved dui. I would honestly say 2 years in prison, the longer he hides the worse it will get will go up the longer he is hiding,Felony, hit and run,an dui will be the charges, possibly filing a false report, probly drop that. depends on the judge and his previous record. If he has a interesting record and continuing disregard for the Law the judge can make a example out of him and five yrs.I would turn him in ,since he has a problem drinking an driving. the next time could be the death of a family,Do you want that ,will bother you knowing your responsible, when you could have stopped it.I would not hesitate,He might get lucky and only do six months ,probation, and a fine from hell.I doubt it.
