makeup help? I'm clueless!?

Hey! I've always been a tomboy, so I've never worn makeup aside from lipstick for special occasions. But I'm a junior in high school, and at this point I feel sorta silly for not even knowing *how* to use mascara, eyeliner, or anything, really. With the new year and all I've decided I want to try it out and see what it's like, because it seems fun and I'm curious. Anyone hear think they could explain some things to me about what's best to use and how to put it on? Thanks a million!

Make up is soo much fun I love it. Since you are just starting, you definitely want a natural look and want to use drugstore products because they're cheaper.

    1. Face - If you have good skin, all you really need is concealer to cover up any blemishes or dark circles under your eyes. Concealer is thick and comes in liquid or cream form. If you want to even out your entire face or get rid of any overall redness, use BB cream or foundation. BB cream is like a moisturizer with color. It comes in a squeeze out tube and gives a little bit of coverage. Foundation can range anywhere from light to heavy coverage. There is liquid, powder, mousse, etc. and it can be applied with your fingers, brush, or a sponge. Powder is usually used in any oily areas of your face and also to "set" any makeup you put on your face. If you don't use a powder, your foundation or concealer won't stay put throughout the day. Powders can be translucent (no color), or have a color and should match the rest of your face.

Blush/bronzer - Blush looks so pretty because it brings color to your cheeks. Some are matte and some are shimmery. use a fluffy brush to apply to the apples of your cheeks and also blend it up, towards your temples. Bronzers can be used for two things: giving a warm glow to your face (sweep it on your forehead, jawline, and sides of your face) or to contour (to make it look like you have cheek bones, this is hard to explain how to do so look up a youtube tutorial)

Eyes - If you have sparse brows, fill them in a little. Just any bald spots, don't go overboard because you don't want to look like your brows are drawn on. Use a small angle brush and fill them in with a powder that matches your eyebrow color. For eyeshadow, stick with neutral shades (nothing shimmery, glittery, or bright) like light brown, and use a fluffy brush to apply them to your crease (where the skin of your eyelid folds). The hardest thing for the eyes is to learn how to apply eyeliner, and practice makes perfect. Eyeliner comes in gel, liquid, pencil, and sort of felt tip pen applicator. For starters, choose a simple color, like black or brown. They easiest eyeliner to use is one with a felt tip (it literally looks like a pen). Draw a line on your eyelid as close to your lash roots as possible, making it thicker towards the outer edge of your eye. For mascara, I really love covergirl volume mascara (in an orange tube). Mascara is pretty easy to use. First, curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, then wiggle the mascara wand through your lashes a few times. Use a q tip to remove any smudges.

Lips - so many options for the lips!! plain chapstick, tinted chapstick, lipstains, lipsticks, lipgloss. I think maybelline baby lips tinted chapsticks are really pretty because they are moisturizing and add a hint of color but not too much. Clear lipgloss looks very pretty too.

Make up might seem intimidating at first because there are soo many products out there and so much to learn, but with time and practice you seriously will fall in love with it. Don't be discourage if your eyeliner looks like sh** the first time you apply it, or if you buy concealer in the wrong color, just keep going at it because makeup is so much fun and such a self confidence booster. Hope this helped :)

First thing is have you talked to mom or any friends? Don't feel silly because you because you don't know. You didn't know how to add 2+2 until someone taught you.

Second: If you live near a JC Penny's or a store that sells make up, go in and ask them about the best products for you and how to apply them. Usually they will do this free but you can schedule an appointment at a cosmetics shop (like Bare Minerals) and pay for them to do a whole evaluation for you. (Not completely sure on that though)

As for mascara, you just take the wand out of the tube and swipe it on your lashes from the start of your lashes to their tips. I don't like when my eyelashes clump so i usually use an eyelash curler first to keep them from sticking together.

For eyeliner, it depends on the type you use. I use a powder and take a eyeliner brush and draw a line half way directly under my eyelashes.

Honestly, you cant go wrong with a little blush, some mascara and some lip gloss.

To apply blush, you will need a blush brush for this. Tap the brush on the blush to get some on it (not too much) and then smile and apply it to the top of your cheeks, just sweep it out to the sides of your face.

I know a lot of girls who put on a whole lot of make up and it just looks awful so please be cautious. Make up is supposed to enhance your features. Remember don't be afraid to ask.

    Hope this helps.

Listed below are some starter necessities for these simply beginning out with make-up: 1. Nude eyeshadow - that is flattering and subtle on most all people. Make sure to get an eyeshadow brush with a handle to coach her learn how to apply eyeshadow. 2. Blush - some thing delicate and pink that matches her typical color. Three. Lip gloss - opt for a color most effective moderately deeper than her normal lip color. A sheer, rosy gloss will appear pretty, but now not overdone. Most kids want to show up older, but that’s not the factor of makeup. By using avoiding heavier make-up like mascara, liner and basis, she's going to nonetheless appear her age with the aid of opening off with the subtle basics. Then, when she gets just a little older and begins excessive tuition, take her to a legit make-up artist to get a real lesson in applying makeup.

I was a tomboy till about 7th grade, when I realized I was pretty much the only one who didnt do the whole makeup thing. So what I did was ask my friends for help. They taught me how to use mascara by holding the wand up to my lashes and telling me to slowly and softly blink. Not too hard, so that the lashes dont hit your face and leave a smudge. As for eyeliner, I just played with it for a while. Tried different styles that I saw in magazines and on my classmates. I found that the best way is to put a thin line on the verge of my bottom lashes, as well as on the inside of my lash line. I would ask your mom or friends who wear makeup to teach you how to blend for foundation, concealer, etc. Its easier to show than to explain. Youtube videos do work, but dont go overboard. You dont want to do a music video look just for a day at school. :)

Welcome to the world of makeup. First of all, you need to keep in mind that you want to look NATURAL. Not bare-faced one day to Barbie the next. Keep it simple, short, and use just enough to bring out your best assets. I would suggest starting with some mascara, concealer, and blush. It's hard to say which ones you should get as I don't know what your skin tone is or eye color is, but there are A TON of Youtube videos online that can help you--that's how I learned to do my makeup. Another helpful source is your mom (if she's knowledgeable). Just ask for tips. Keep in mind that makeup doesn't make you more beautiful; it just enhances what's already there. You may be ready for makeup, but never forget that you are just as pretty without it. Good luck!

Since your a tom boy, you could wear eyeliner and mascara. Makeup like Lipstick, lipgloss and stuff like that might be a bit too girly. But if you need help knowing how to apple eyeliner and mascara, search it on youtube! Best of luck!

Youtube for sure! You can watch videos on "best drug store make up brands". How to apply different foundations, mascara, eyeliner, etc. It's not that hard once you get the hang of it! But, I'd definitely find some beginner tutorials on Youtube...they should have a ton!!

Oh my gosh! i looove makeup so much, in cosmetology, I've been doing makeup for a long time since i was like 12, but you want to start off with a light foundation or a bb cream just to get used to putting it on, like try Covergirl advanced radiance liquid foundation with the advanced radiance powder, id buy a beauty blender and use that to apply the foundation or bb cream you like. Also if you want more coverage try a concealer, i recommend Loreal stick cream concealer, I love it has a lot of coverage, just blend it in with fingers, idk if you fill in your brows or not but its reallllyyy easy, also with eyeliner, it depends how you want it, but to start off id just glide a thin line on the top, and use a nude or white liner on your bottom waterline, it will make your eyes pop, also apply your mascara, anykind you want, just glide it on to your lashes for as much as you like, try not going clumpy. Also i put a little on my bottom lashes some dont but i think it makes my eyes look bigger, also put more on the outer corner than towards the inner part, and also if you want to wear blush or bronzer, its reeeaaallly easy, so i use a slanted brush, its fluffy but has an edge, you take the bronzer down from your eat right under your cheek bone and glide it up onto your termples, and i just add some pink blush into it but more on my cheeks, then take a big fluffy kabuki brush and blend it all out so you dont have defined lines and it looks more natural, anyways those are basics anymore questions look on youtube (: i recommend iheartmakeup92 i loooove her videos and she does a lot of acne coverage in case you have acne or something. but anyway hope this helps!!!
