What's so good about Fairy Tail?

First off, its a shounen manga. And like the other guy said its better than Bleach, and Naruto.

I read and watch the anime. The manga is better, and i still like the anime. It has a nice mix of personalities, action, comedy, and art etc...

Obout Natsu over bpwering, that changes. He along with all of Fairy Tail Guild(Gildarts included) stood ZERO chance vs Acnologia, and Acnologia toyed with them. Natsu cant beat Gildarts. And Natsu is being held Prisoner right now(along with Erza, Mira, Lisanna), while elfman is basically possesed. There has been death lately also(no Fairy Tail guild members, but the entire council, townspeople, and maybe Jellal with last chapter, and a main Character from the future). Natsu was even weaker againts one of the future people(antagonist of GMG arc, other future person is good), that he only beat with help. Theres been quite a bit of fanservice lately, but only a imature person would be distracted from the story. All in all the manga has been getting better and better.

Its a good series if you can respect it for what it is, and what is meant for.

Fairy Tail and Rosario Vampire are my favorite manga series. Rosario vampire anime series is a piece of sh!t thats an abomination to the manga. The manga is not ecchi, fanservice, cheezy action and comedy. Its real action, drama, romance, with real plot, and story telling and comedy. The anime went its own direction, and made its own story and tirned it into crap that focouse on making it fanservice and nothing else.

But getting up to episode 36 of Fairy Tail, and stopping isnt really giving it a chance. But its your opinion.

Well, this is a case of how mature you are, and how much you can appreciate an anime for what it is. ITS A GODDAMN SHOUNEN ANIME. Almosy everybody eats it up just because it says shounen on myanimelist. Ok, ok, the main reason is because it is long, better than Naruto, and is pretty unique for its genre (fantasy, magic, ect.) And the fanservice isn't very good because it wasn't meant to sell as an ecchi of harem anime. Once you get past that, you'll notice that the visuals are pretty nice for a fairly long anime. Yes, Natsu is over-powered now, but as the same with all other Shounen Jump hits (Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto), he learns a lot of new moves, and gets an awesome power up once in a while. As you watch more of the series you'll see that he is not so over powered, and that there are people that he can't even lift a pinky to.

So, please watch some more of this series, and make your own opinion of it, not base your thoughs on others opinions. You might end up loving it, or continue to hate it.

It has the common elements that people like in shonen anime. Friendship, battles, OP main characters that never give up, some comedy, and all that stuff. The story isn't meant to blow your mind or anything, just decent enough to make a decent battle shonen anime and I personally think it's got a good mix of characters that are fun and have nice interactions with each other. I don't really think the fanservice is that distracting either (not like high school of the dead or anything). But, well, maybe this stuff isn't your thing.

Nah it's just a battle shounen. It's not my type of thing. I see same goes for you. Just ignore it and watch some drama/romance/mystery/Slice of Life and ecchi if you like "pure" fanservice.
