Do you call an anime by it's original title or its translated title?

I prefer to use the Japanese name. I guess to avoid confusion, the original name of origin should be used.

HOWEVER, some anime have ridiculously long names, and myself being a foreigner to Japanese culture, it's very hard to pronounce. For example (Might have to start a new line for this one) :P

Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga Warui!

It's much easier to call it, "No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!" Or the abbreviated name, Watamote!

It depends. If i see something subbed first, and the dub changes it, I usually keep calling it the original name. For example, I still call it Kuroshitsuji instead of Black Butler. But sometimes even if I watch the sub first, the translation sounds better or is easier to say, like Attack on Titan.

I usually end up calling them by their original title. Not the translated title. Not because I think the original is better or any crap like that but because it just became so natural for me to call it by its original title that I just naturally use it. I don't even have to think about it. I have to think about it when I have to give the English name for it.

In my case I say it both ways but sometimes it confuses me when someone says it the translated way. This is because I know more anime in their original name.

Attack on Titan is the english traslation for Shingeki no Kyojin. Many prefer saying AOT including me, after hearing many people saying it that way it kind of sticked with me and is sort of comfortable for an english speaker.

I usually call them by their original name but if that is too long or hard to pronounce I call it by its english name. For example I feel like I'm the only one that calls Shingeki No Kyojin by its original name. Everyone calls it Attack On Titan.

I find that they're interchangeable, because many anime fans tend to be somewhat bilingual in English & Japanese. For example, Poltergeist Report was also known as YuYu Hakusho. It caused no confusion to use either of its names since both were equally familiar to U.S. fans and the anime magazines that did reviews on the show.

i use both but only if the japanese name is easy to say if it's hard for me to say it right then i use the English version but it also depends on the anime some animes English names r either better then the japanese names like shows from ikki tousen blue exorcist black butler kamisama kiss and case closed their real names r battle vixens (ikki tousen) ao no exorcist (blue exorcist) kuroshitsuji (black butler) detective conan (case closed) and kamisama hajimemashita (kamisama kiss) so really also part of it has to do with which name you like to say better at least that's what I think

Whichever one I hear first or more often is the one I use. I usually know both titles though to avoid confusion.
