Should I come out before I have sex? I'm 21 and a virgin?

I've had issues for years with self-acceptance and homophobia. Despite this I have a strong desire to have a relationship or do something with a guy. Is it unwise to hookup with someone before I move past these issues?

21! Coming out ? Never been with a guy! Virgin? Again 21 ! Your normal! Just be you get to know who ever and if you feel comfortable then go for it. How do you know you don't like bananas unless you've eaten bunch. How do you know you like pie until you've eaten many different pies. Guess what I am trying to say is don't feel obligated thAt you have to eat pie all the time because you ate one apple pie. And don't think you have to eat bananas for the rest of your life becAuse you ate one banana. Your 21 and remember your gonna have to eat allot of pie and allot of bananas before you die. Now bananas turn brown and as they age and pie turns mushy and the crust dries out as it ages. So you have to make a choice just remember it all turn mushy in the end. So eat some bananas and try some

Source(s): Pies. You can always make banana bread and a little whip cream always makes a crusty pie taste good.

It's definitely smarter to reinforce your self-confidence before engaging in a relationship, but if you do choose to engage with someone, be safe and make sure you're in a healthy relationship.

PFLAG will connect you with other guys going through the same thing you are. You will feel much more confidence with friends.

Then you can think about dating.

Don't come out before you are financially independent-- some kids get kicked to the street. I came out at 19.
