Does the offence and defence switch in american football?
Ok i'm very confused by this during the game does the offence and defence change at all or is one team offence and one team defence if so how is that determined and how does defence score points thanks.

The team with the ball is on offence, and the other team is on defense. Both teams have different players for offense and defense. If the defense gets the ball and scores a touchdown.

In the NFL, players will only play a defensive or offensive position, not both. The two sides (three if you count special teams, that would be punts and kicks and such) are both part of the same team, but take turns being on the field.
When a team has possession of the ball, they put their offense on the field. When their opponent has the ball, they put their defense on the field.

Most players only play offense or defense. If the offense screws up and the defense gets the ball then they can score. Since they started out on defense it is called a defense score.
