Do you think it is ironic that the lack of global warming gets blamed on global warming?

And they call US the deniers.

Update:

Well, Starbaby, the "warming" arctic has reclaimed nearly all of its sea ice in a single year.

Antarctica is on its way to set a sea ice extent record and the total global sea ice is at record levels also.

Australia is struggling to beat records set in 1896, but hasn't yet. What made it so hot then?

"Warming Arctic". Talk about "Ignorant and simplistic".

The bad news for US sceptics is that more and more evidence is suggesting that global warming is at least partly responsible for the cold weather.

Bear on mind also that the cold weather is only affecting the US and a couple of other places, there are just as many other places that are having heatwaves and droughts. Averaged globally there is no cooling.

Every weather system on the planet is driven by the presence of heat energy, whether it’s fog, storms, snow, heatwaves etc. Any change to the amount of heat energy in the atmosphere, the oceans or the landmass is going impact on the weather. Because the weather is so complex, the outcome of even a modest change can be both unpredictable and very significant.

As for the Arctic, there is no way in a million years that it has “reclaimed nearly all of its sea ice in a single year”, I have no idea where such an idiotic claim originated from. Today there are 13,678,391km² of sea-ice, this is the second lowest level ever recorded at this time of year. Not only that, the ice is now a lot thinner than it used to be and the annual minima are now just 30% of what they used to be. Sorry for using facts, I know you hate them.

You stated that “total global sea ice is at record levels”, you forgot to mention that it’s at record LOW levels.

Global warming is definite only as it applies to people realizing we really don't know shi* about the trials of million-year -spans as points on a graph of historical evolutionary change, or God's crucible thermodynamics as is in harmony with a plan...perhaps.

Since qwe won't ever know if we are screwing with our breathing-air and drinking-water and eating-food, and child-wealth...we may as well pretend we're dooming ourselves, but we are not the big dumb animal that levels the forests to see that it was made mostly of trees, any one tree a unique member essential to the wiring of wooden dearth that brings time to a fellowship of the rings of its testament of ages of our seventh generative time-signature. We imagine that now, just in case we delight in learning it so before the forest goes legendary...again.

Note that ther is only two tree lines in nature. One is dictated by mountains by way of elevations. The other by humans , as what would be a temperate line of rational use and the raising of reasoning , in reaction, that is threshold by and large, to a stable, that is in style for messiahs.

If each person on Earth planted two trees in sensible areas, then staked their lives to assure of those two trees' survival, global warming would be an invitation for the world to party and invite all its tree-atches. Rsvp.

There is no 'lack of global warming'. Why do people like you completely forget that the world does not consist of only 50 states? While it is colder than usual in some parts of the world due to the meandering polar vortex other parts of the world are having some of the hottest months on record. and though this is repeatedly being explained to people in multiple posts per day they continue bringing up exactly the same nonsense.

Your claim that the warming Arctic has reclaimed almost all of it's sea ice within a single year is not the truth either.

I agree there is no warming, but there are big changes that are puzzling me, the Arctic was very cold last summer, but is very warm this winter, the changes in the vortex, the increase in Antarctic ice, the reductions in hurricanes, no big El Nino's, what is going on?

The Warming stopped in 1998 when the pacific Ocean cooled

down by California . NASA ,NOAA and the IPCC are making it up as they go along .The hottest years were 1934 and 1939

20,000 records of that there is only 4000 records for the year 2000s and up. CO2 is a trace gas .

I think this stuff is hilarious, as the headlines read down in Atlanta this morning:"Mind Boggling Massive Ice Storm Coming into the Deep South."

Both the Arctic and Antarctica are losing ice volume more every year You are confusing ice extent with ice volume Quite recently Antarctica lost a 200 square mile chunk of the ice sheet. Not too long ago, a piece broke off the size of Maryland. This is thicker older ice. Most of the ice extent melts in the summer and this is thin ice compared to the ice sheets. the western portion of Antarctica is when the significant ice volume is receding The is glacier melt, ice calving and much of this is controlled by warming oceans in the west. The ice extent does increase and the recent enlarging extent is related to the winds blowing over eastern Antarctica.

I wander if you can get beyond 6th grade science. http://nsidc.org/ this is the intelligent place to go for polar news

It's simplistic and ignorant to say that global warming isn't real based on one cold winter. "Climate" and "weather" are two totally different things. The polar vortex normally stays at the North Pole, but the warming Arctic ocean has caused it to split and move south. Incidentally, Australia is in the middle of a record-breaking heat wave. What about them?

I have only heard denialists claim that the supposed lack of warming is caused by warming, and as such, the claim is a straw man argument.

The reason why the rate of the warming isn't constant is due to such factors as PDO and the yellow ball in the sky.

And like a typical denialist, Madd Maxx ran off with his motor mouth without bothering to read realist answers. If someone were to ask a question about something skeptics supposedly claim, I would read some of their responses before embarrassing myself.

It would help to review the differences between

    a) volume and surface area

    b) global and regional

    c) science and fossil fuel industry fake science
