Do you think this guy is playing mind games?
I met this guy (43 y/o), and we have this unbelievably strong connection. Most of our communicating is done by text, or phone. Ever so often we'll have a conversation, then all of a sudden he'll stop communications for no reason. Nothing happens. Recently he texted me, and I texted him back with a reply. Then I don't hear from him again for a couple days. So I'll text him and say, how's your day going? And I get no response. Then I might say, is everything okay? No response. Then I'll say geez, if you wanted out, just let me know. He does not answer to any of them. Then he will send me these mysterious texts. Like he wants me to get a reaction. He'll start it out like No, but usually, and then a bunch of symbols. Then he'll say, what you didn't like it in another text? It has nothing to do with anything. It seems like a pattern with him. Today's Valentine's Day, and no Happy Valentine's or anything. Just these mysterious text. Anybody have any input?
I don't get it! I didn't think guys at this age played games. And why would he want to sabotage something great?
I do trying calling, and he doesn't answer. He knows I'm calling b/c he has caller I.D. Why doesn't he just say, sorry I missed your call?
But before I drop him. I want to make sure this isn't my imagination. Which I don't think it is. I don't get what he would gain from this. He obviously knows I'm upset, and it's Valentine's Day. Even if it were all a mistake. Why isn't he texting me saying Happy Valentine's Day? That leads me to believe it's a game he's aware of.

This seems like a perfect display of mind games, be careful, walk away before you get hurt. It can become a strong source of emotional pain.

Yeah, it's probably a mind game.. but I'd add that some people are just really bad texters (especially older people). My mom, for instance; I could text her right now and it could easily take a week to get a response and it will probably be gibberish. Shes terrible. Try calling before you make any decisions.

Haha its called push an pull. If you wanted him too stop just call him out on it. And its not emotional and painful, its suppose to be fun and flirtasious. And it builds rapport. (If you use it rite) girls can also use push and pull

Ya his mind is occupied by someone else. He shows no interest in you and knows he can always fall back on you. I hate to be harsh but he shows you no respect what so ever.
If you dont text him when he texts you he will come after you, but he has you chasing him. Its a game to him and girl its not worth it.
More details:
You are his fallback girl, you will always answer his calls.
