Should the wedding band be in perfect match with the ring?

I like a gemstone ring, and he likes plain metal band.

We both are confused about what to do.

Can the ring and band be different in style?

Do they look odd?

As usual, my answer to these types of questions is "It's your hand, and your jewelry, where what you like".

Rings do not have to match. the bride's wedding band and the groom's wedding band do not have to match.

The bride's engagement ring and wedding band do not have to match.

This is your personal intimate jewelry. You pick out what you want.

Choose what you like - they might have a common element, such as his being a plain gold band and yours having a gold setting, but other than that, it's up to you. Look on etsy for some really interesting combinations.

Of course they can be different. They only look "odd" if you don't like how they look. It's completely subjective.

No, you and your spouse's wedding rings do not have to match/be the same.
