Let's say you had a startek like ship..?

Let us say you had an enterprise like ship and could travel any place in the Galaxy..

Where would you go and why?

I would likely go near the center of the galaxy.. I would love to study the super massive black hole..

    A lot of exploring could be done with a starship like in Star Trek. I'd send out probes to the stars that are similar in size to our own sun and scan any rocky inner planets to determine if there is life there or not. Why waste time traveling to a solar system hoping to discover life and come up empty when a probe can scan and send back an alert if life is detected.

    I'd like to see a 'local' black hole; and a neutron star... I saw a science show that had a simulation of *two* neutrons stars orbiting each other - I can't imagine seeing anything cooler than that.

    I'd start by going to somewhere they can actually spell the words "Star Trek" correctly and then move swiftly on to the Entertainment section of Y!A and leave the astronomy section to the astronomers
