How to get this girl's number?
I'm a homework area at my university sitting across from this girl. She's working really hard and I have been for the most part too. She just got up to use the bathroom. I'm thinking I'll make joke (appropriate one) and try to get her number when she gets back. Is that weird?
Other thing I'm thinking about is leaving my name and number on a piece of paper in her seat and getting out of here.
Tom, its not class we're just in the library but I have to go soon. Maybe before she gets back from the can.

Strike a conversation with her. Maybe perhaps make a joke. For example, I like saying "I love your shirt, but it's a bit too purple :)". Don't make it rude, don't make it TOO friendly. Just make is as it is - friendly.
Then just talk. No one on the face of the world cares what you would talk about. Even she won't care. Just talk, make jokes, tell her something she didn't knew etc. Don't few her as a sex object. View her as an EQUAL PERSON. Chat with her. As her number or her facebook. And then DON'T LEAVE. Instead keep chatting a bit more so that you won't seem needy.
if she asks why you want her number for. Tell her to stay in touch.
That's about it.
