I'm a bulimic and I have concerns about my heart?

I've been bulimic for 7 years, and I don't plan to recover, but now I have a concern about my heart health. Somedays my pulse is 35 and some days it's 95.

Why? Is this okay?

Hi, unfortunately there are a lot of factors that can contribute to your pulse changes and its too hard to evaluate over the internet. That being said, some things we look for in patients with eating disorders is electrolyte imbalances. Depending on the type of bulimia you have, you may be dangerously low on certain electrolytes such as Magnesium and Potassium which can be DEADLY to your heart. I encourage you to see your doctor for a checkup and be open about your bulimia. Even if you aren't ready to recover we as healthcare providers are concerned with your health and will work with you to help better yourself in whatever ways possible, even if you remain bulimic. We never turn anyone away. I recommend getting some simple bloodwork to assess your electrolyte levels. Goodluck

I honestly can't answer the question about your pulse, not being knowledgeable enough about medicine. However I do know that bulimia is hazardous to both your physical and emotional health for a number of reasons. I know you don't want to hear this, but please consider getting help. If you can't do it on your own, there's no shame in seeking professional help.

It seems likely that you are not accurate in feeling the pulse you are counting. You would have had some other problems if your pulse were really 35.

I'm afraid these pulse values do not seem ok , I would urge you to see your doctor and try and get the support and help that you need ...you deserve to live your life free of this Ed , 7 years is a long time and the effects do appear and affect organs ...you deserve a happy and healthy life ...be strong and please try your best to think about recovery ....Ed makes you see and feel things that aren't true , you're beautiful , don't let your ed make you think otherwise , remember it's on the inside what counts , not on the outside xx

No that's not OK. But you have no plans on getting better.

At least write a suicide note so that your parents know why you dieted yourself to death.

Siunds dangerous. You do realize that you can die from bulimia, right? Plus your destroying your teeth with the stomach acid youre coating your teeth with?
