47 Ronon based on an Anime by the same name?
Now I know that this is a really stupid question but I have just got to know because it’s been bugging me for quite a while now. Please keep in mind that my experience with the Anime genre is obviously very limited. Is the movie 47 Ronon based on an Anime by the same name? The name just seems so familiar.
@Lanblade: See, this is why I hardly ever talk about Anime - it just shows my total ignorance on the subject! Thank you for the info and I will look the 47 up ;)

I think you mean 47 Ronin not 47 Ronon.
And no it is not. There's no anime about the 47 ronin.
The new 47 Ronin movie that came out this year is the 5th remake/incarnation of the 47 Ronin movie franchise which started in 1941. It's based on the 47 Ronin who are an actual real group of people who followed the samurai code to the extreme and became a national legend back in 1701-1703.
