I can barely tolerate my family, is this normal?
I'm 16 and a female, and lately I can't stand being around my family especially my mom. I get super easily agitated at the things they do and say, and I'm constantly annoyed and angry at my parents for criticizing me about how I'm doing in school and how I spend my time. I work really hard and don't get in trouble...but they are always on me. I know this just means they care but I can't stand them most of the time. I hate being so uptight and short and annoyed at them, but I can barely control it. Is this normal, and is it my fault?

Totally normal. You're 16 and hormonal, it's to be expected. Here's something to think about: imagine how your parents are feeling right now? They're probably trying the best they can to raise you, feed you, make you happy and you, being a teenager, are constantly getting frustrated and angry at them. It's going to hurt them a lot. I'm not saying you're doing it on purpose, I was 16 once and I was the same but just think about that from time to time. Believe me, I know it's not easy but trust me. I'm 32 now and I remember my teen years well. I feel so bad for putting my parents through it. If I could go back in time I would try so much harder not to make their lives such a living hell. So if you're able (yes it'll be hard work), try and be mindful of it and remember your parents are suffering too.
