Why are my comments disappearing on YouTube?
All day I have been posting comments under the new Beyonce video. I am not writing popular comments on there. And I've noticed that my comments are disappearing.
Even though I can see then while I'm still signed in under the name I used to post the comments.
The reason I know they are disappearing is because I signed in under another name I have and went right back and looked for the comments I left using the previous name and they are not showing up in the comments section. They are totally gone. I was wondering why nobody was really responding to me much. Now I know.
So someone tell me - is this because so many people are doing the "thumbs down" on my comments which triggers youtube to block them?
If so - that's the most PATHETIC thing I have ever seen - and VERY scary. Because all this has done is squash the discussion. I never post profanity or anything and I'm always civil with my posts but now they are going to magically DISAPPEAR because some people put a thumbs down on them?
If that's the case then I will no longer be posting any comments at youtube which tends to defeat the intent of what they're trying to do anyhow. At least I thought so.
Indeed - we are living in perilous times when someone is wreaking such havoc on FREE SPEECH.
Thanks Google and Youtube. Nice work.

That is because "those" comments are now routed through your Google+ account.
Therefore, if you aren't signed-in to your Google+ account, you may not be able to
see or access them -- particularly if you are commenting on someone else's video
and you aren't in THEIR ''circle''. After all, what you're really doing is commenting
on THEIR Google+ account. Then again, YOUR Google+ might not be as "public"
as you think.
Also bear in mind that YouTube now shows what its algorithm considers to be the
"Top Comments'', and those are almost NEVER in any type of chronological order.
If your comment isn't a "Top Comment", then it certainly won't be on the first page.
After all, YouTube says: "You’ll see comments at the top of the list from people in
your Google Plus circle(s), creators, and popular personalities. Comments with a
lot of likes and replies will rank highly as well."

Furthermore, surely you've noticed that cheap stuff like 'spam' and 'Bob Was Here'
comments have practically disappeared. Although YouTube/Google do not state it,
it's pretty obvious that they've got filters in place determining which comments will
post, and which won't. What you see in your account isn't always posted outright.
The other thing you should try, oddly enough, is to disable any ''Adblock'' software
you may have. Since YouTube comments don't actually come from YouTube but
from Google (which is a "third-party"), your Cookies may consider Google Plus as
some kind of advertisement.

You are so right inukjuak90 - 2 years later - it is still happening - they see what you are writing, and they just do not like it, so they 'oops' it away from you. I just take it as a sign from God that I did not need to post it, and He is always 100% right! It is always about some government BS, which I have no business getting into anyway, telling things that 'they' have tried to keep secret anyway, ha (like Roger Clinton dating our pastor's daughter during election time because our sweet Pastor was ALSO the Director, or whatever the head hauncho was called back then, of the Ar. Baptist State Convention WAY back then, when Clinton was running for Governor... ... ... ) This will most likely disappear too Ha I am submitting NOW
