I think you should look at the truth instead!

Your post almost illustrates why - because people like yourself have a deep desire for it to be true and when you see the conclusion of the scientific research you will understand the psychological/psychiatric implications of that!

NDE stands for Near Death Experience and thereby lies the clue! No death just fantasy!

Research has been done in a number of hospitals in a number of countries with the same results.

Numbers, pictures of codes were placed on top of high points in the wards. In some hospitals patients were told in others they were not.

In the hospitals where people were told of the test there were no claims! Not even one!

In the other hospitals there were claims but no one could describe the numbers, pictures etc.

Then even more interesting it was found that all the claimants had recorded their religion as Christian!

Psychiatrists and psychologists are now examining the links between these false fantasy claims and a single religion!

NDE experiences can be explained scientifically .

    NDE contains these characteristics:

The sudden awareness that one has had a 'fatal" accident and not survived.

An out-of-body experience. A sensation of floating above one's body and seeing the surrounding area.

    Pleasant feelings, calmness.

A sensation of moving upwards through a tunnel or narrow passageway.

Meeting deceased relatives or spiritual figures

Encountering a being of light, or a light (possibly a religious figure, i.e. Jesus, God, Buddha)

    Being given a life review

A feeling of being returned to the body, often accompanied by a reluctance to return

Things like heart attacks, near-drowning and severe loss of blood can all trigger near death experiences.

NDEs have been experienced by thousands of people and have been widely cataloged in a variety of books. Many of these books are "spiritual" or "religious" in nature.

What is not mentioned is that there is a drug called Ketamine that produces all of the elements of an NDE when it is injected into normal, non-dying people. In other words, an NDE is a natural, chemically induced state that the human brain enters. The trigger for an NDE is lack of oxygen to the brain and body. If you read scientific papers like these, you find that there is a completely chemical and completely non-spiritual reason for the features of every NDE.

Is this a direct proof that God is imaginary? No. However, it is a direct proof that the NDE (which many people use as "indisputable" proof that God and eternal life exist) has no supernatural meaning. We can scientificaly prove NDEs to be chemical side-effects rather than "a gateway to the afterlife" as many religious believers claim.

Also if you believe everything you see on youtube, you're gonna have a bad time

    Yes.

What I found is that there are no "NDE experiences" on YouTube.

There are *stories* about such things, all of which lack any supporting evidence...

But that's not the same thing.

Have YOU looked at the huge number of claimed "NDEs" that DON'T support your particular belief system? 'Cause there are thousands of them.

    Oops.

Because YouTube is a reliable source?

I read a book about it (that assumed it was real) when I was a child. Checked it out from the library.

And why ask atheists? Why not ask everyone (even theists) that don't believe in after lives? Some atheists DO believe in after lives.

    So why *atheists*?

We are not able to record dreams yet.

    That is all NDE's are.

That is what happens to the brain when starved for oxygen.

Why? NDEs are just the brain hallucinating as it's starved of oxygen.

no, I haven't, I have enough common sense to realize that those experiences we're a vivid hallucination. Nothing more, I don't need to know about a god who apparently punishes people because of who they are, not to mention the entire bible is a book that contradicts itself the entire way through. "Thy shall not kill" but in my bible you're "god" makes a man kill his son as a sacrifice for him? it's ridiculous. to me , religion is just as realistic as santa clause, and the tooth fairy.

I already know that oxygen starved brain hallucinates.

Should I look up junkies describing their trips too? It's just as valid.

They will look at it but remain the same due to the stubbornness and hardness of their heart. At least they cannot stand before God and say "we never heard, knew, were informed etc"
