Distance = velocity times time
x = v t
distance covered by 40mph
x = 40 t
distance covered by 60mph
x = 60 ( t-3)
at catch up both distance are equal
40 t = 60 ( t-3)
40t = 60t - 180
-20 t = -180
t = 9 hours
distance = 40 (9)
=360 miles
