The device in the video will guarantee you a visit from the police and the RSPCA.
Cats bury their waste, so if you finding feces on your lawn the most likely culprit is a fox. Either way there are humane and legal deterrents you can use and the RSPB's web site has good advice on the subject.

N.B. This question was posted on the UK & Ireland forum - AC does not exist here. Trapping cats is also not allowed in the UK unless carried out a rescue organisation. If you do this to someone's pet, you are committing theft and the RSPCA prosecute individuals who do this to other people's cats.

Nope
Call AC, rent or borrow live traps, trap the disease spreading strays, take them to AC. That simple.
The cat will just come back no matter how many times you scare them off. Removal is the only way to stop them from coming back

Maybe they are dogs, not cats. Cats cover their poop, dogs doesn't.
Don't use any chemical products, because if some cat or dog has owners and something happens to him or her, you ended up having a big trouble.
