Cat Treat Recipes for a Diabetic Cat?
I need recipes for cat treats for a cat that is Diabetic.
My cat is Diabetic and this will more than likely be her last month as it's getting to expensive and she's not getting any better. She's also an old cat, she's 11 years old.
So does anyone have any ideas on recipes for cat treats that would be fine for her to eat? They have to be good for a Diabetic cat and also something that might taste good to her.
Ken the biggest problem with my cat being diabetic is that she doesn't like getting the insulin shot. She's gotten me pretty good a few times. She also isn't feeling good. My mom said that we would make her last month a happy time for her. She also has a problem with her rear end. Not a big problem, but still a problem. She walks just fine but she has to hop up the steps. But Heidi seems happy to just lay around and be lazy.

Hi'
I am a feline diabetes expert and work with many people from all over the world helping them with their diabetic cats. This is NOT a death sentence no life span needs to be lost and your cat can thrive again if you are proactive in treatment. Your cat is not even close to old and all that is going on can be reversed.
The bad news is that most vets are not up to date on the correct treatment of this disease and some can be dangerous in their advice/
When you know what you are doing this disease is easily treated
I am very good at what I do. I do not charge any money and if you are willing to do what your cat needs then I am willing to work with you every day till not needed anymore. You may have to start over depending on which insulin you are using and what you are feeding so there may be some initial expense but after that it won't be that expensive and you will not need vet appointments for diabetes.
If you are interested, want to give your cat a chance and willing to do what your cat needs please email me at justken@rocketmail.com.
Let me know when diagnosed, which insulin you give how much how many times a day, what food you feed and if there are any back leg problems. I hope you follow through
to answer your question plain meat like turkey chicken ham is fine for treats or an occasional meal

Um, NO. Cats are OBLIGATE CARNIVORES so you can't make them "cupcakes", "cookies" or "ice dream". The only treats they should be given are those made with meat and that's pretty much it. There's all sorts of dried chicken, dried salmon, etc treats you can pick up at stores. You can also buy chicken organ meats - livers, hearts - simmer them, pour off most of the water and either cut up into little pieces and serve or do what I do. I take the cooked organ meats and a little bit of the cooking liquid and pureé it in a blender. Then I pour it into ice cube trays and freeze. To serve you just pop out a cube or two and thaw in the microwave them serve as a thick soup. Haven't met a cat yet that doesn't love it and it's LOADED with nutrition. edit: canned salmon is a HORRIBLE thing to feed a cat because it's loaded with mercury. And CARROTS for a carnivore? edit2: LOL!!!!! at Jade's answer and those ridiculous recipes! And Dustmop - great answer!

Life style is often part of the issue. Life style changes now could delay or prevent you from getting diabetes later. Learn here https://tr.im/VSmAq
What you eat is not actually the cause of diabetes, but how you live can be. If you sit on the couch all day, your chances of developing diabetes goes up greatly.
Just do the best you can to not gain weight and to maintain an active life style and that will greatly help reduce some of your risks.
