Why do you care? To us it is a proper noun.

It's a respect thing. You aren't just speaking of some 'him' somewhere. You're talking about Him. Just like many faiths don't use the proper noun 'God', but use 'G-d' when referencing Him, because they believe you aren't supposed to state the name.

Newspapers of record are the bastions of grammar style. This is the standard rule by just about all of them and the dictionaries they use:

God is capitalized when it functions as a name. God is a proper noun like any other name.

As for the pronoun, we no longer capitalize Him.

You capitalize pronouns that refer to God to show reverence for His name - so privately its capped, at work it’s lowercase.

Most Christians are grammatically ignorant because most Christians are not well educated.

It is proper in the context that it's used in. Him refers to someone of importance and when referring to God it is customary to capitalize his name and He, His.

Because "He" is not a 'he'. The vernacular not only implies gender, but sex. While God has gender, He doesn't have sex. The capitolization is to distingish His pronoun from all others since English is ill equipped to do so.

It isn't grammatically incorrect. It can be capitalized when the antecedent is God.

It's not grammatically correct, but it is politically correct.

Being Satan, I care about what's PC.
