Did Command Sponsorship (policy) changed?
Hi, I will be inbound to korea (camp Casey) in December 2014 and I read 2nd ID web site and Effective February 2014, Family who is command sponsored will reside in Area II now. is this true?
or can I live with my family in camp casey, dongducheon, which is Area I? and are they closing down Area I ?
I am E-5 and no kids. MOS is 11B.
If my family come non command sponsored, Can I still live with my family with memorandum from my command? I know the benefits both CSP and non CSP. thank you.
I know family members who have resided in Camp Casey, Area I with their family. but I guess the policy might have changed because as NWIP posted the link, they restricted family member residing in Area I and now they have to reside at Area II.
so I guess it means I will have to work in Area I and live in Area II ?

Correction, since they mentioned "priority one" billets which is mission essential personnels and command positions which they are offered "On Post Housing" so that means they have to live off post or Area II on post housing?
I will be priority two billet and I want to live "Off Post Housing" so Can my family live "Off Post Housing" in Area I ?

You need to speak to YOUR command about it. This took me 2 seconds to find by typing "camp casey command sponsorship"

Command Sponsorship is a program that enables Soldiers to bring their Families to Korea to reside with them
during their tour. As of 1 February 2014, 2ID restricted the Command Sponsorship Program for its units in Area I which include: Camp Casey (210 FAB), Camp Hovey (1ABCT), Camp Red Cloud (HHBN 2nd ID), Camp Stanley (23rd Chemical Battalion, 1ABCT), and in the cities of Uijeongbu and Dongducheon. In 2ID, Area I units, only Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers projected to fill "Priority One" billets will be approved for Command Sponsorship. Family members of those approved for "Priority One" command sponsorship billets will reside in Area II. CSP exceptions to policy will be strictly controlled and delegated by the 2ID Commanding General.
The 2ID Command Sponsorship Program is still available for Area II and Area III units including: K-16 [2nd Battalion (Assault), 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2CAB] and Camp Humphreys (2CAB) in the cities of Songnam, and Pyeongtaek, respectively. Military personnel projected to fill Area II and Area III Priority One, Two, and Three billets may apply for Command Sponsorship.
Servicemembers who elect to bring non-command sponsored Family members to Korea, should be advised of support limitations. More information is available on the USFK website.
Contact the 2ID CSP Manager: email: usarmy.redcloud.2-id.list.web-csp@mail.mil or by phone: DSN 315-732-6863 for more information.

I am not sure what you are really asking and I have college homework to do. It sounds like Camp Casey may be too small a post to even house dependents. There are so many ways to get a ride in Korea to area 2. The MWR bus, a taxi, the Korea subway. It sounds like you will be housed in area 2 and work in area 1.

as far as I know ALL dependents have NEVER been allowed to reside at Casey and instead were required to live in Seoul or elsewhere.
