Recent Command Sponsorship Questions?

Hello,

I wil be reporting to Camp Casey, Korea on DEC 2014 and I read on 2nd ID web-site stating that

"As of 1 February 2014, 2ID restricted the Command Sponsorship Program for its units in Area I which include: Camp Casey (210 FAB), Camp Hovey (1ABCT), Camp Red Cloud (HHBN 2nd ID), Camp Stanley (23rd Chemical Battalion, 1ABCT), and in the cities of Uijeongbu and Dongducheon. In 2ID, Area I units, only Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers projected to fill "Priority One" billets will be approved for Command Sponsorship. Family members of those approved for "Priority One" command sponsorship billets will reside in Area II. CSP exceptions to policy will be strictly controlled and delegated by the 2ID Commanding General"

I am E-5, MOS 11B. Does this mean that I cannot submit my CSP Packet because I am not "Priority One" billet?

what about Priority II and III billets? Does it have to go through exceptions to policy?

Also if my CSP is approved, does this mean that I will be working in Area I and have to live in Area II with my family? I know it's quiet the travel from Area I to Area II, am I provided Quarters or have to go home after work in Area II?

We are considering living "OFF POST HOUSING" in Area I.

And what about Non Command Sponsored Family? what can they do? and can they live off post in Area I ?

sorry for long questions, but we are trying to plan right.

thank you.

Yes, you no longer have Command sponsorship. It has been revoked. You will go to Korea on a 1 yrs non dependent tour. Basically, they are shutting down all family housing in Area 1. And only priority 1 assignments in Area 1 will have Command Sponsorship but will reside in Area 2. If you read further, the Army is also shutting down all family services and programs including medical facilities for family members.

Reporting to Camp Casey doesn't actually mean anything. That's just where 2ID's replacement detachment is. My last tour I was on pinpoint assignment orders to Camp Red Cloud (CRC) and 2ID HQ. My Department met me down in Yongsan and we had to drive up to Casey and Replacement Det and do paperwork there before we drove back down to CRC. As a 11B, you are going to be assigned to either Camp Hovey or Camp Red Cloud, both are in Area 1.
