Should Christian children go to public school?

does the verse 'what fellowship does light have with darkness' apply?

Update:

Matthew 6:23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will ...

... If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

As an atheist I believe it is important for children to socialize with people from different backgrounds and beliefs. By that same token, I would verify that it is a highly rated public school.

Mine did, in fact I never knew of any children of Christians going to private schools.

My father and mother, whose family has been involved in education since the 1870's all thought that we should go to public schools to understand the diversity of the peoples of the republic.

Thank you for those lovely Christian sentiments. You think my kids are "darkness" and should be avoided.

Why would anyone voluntarily join a group that preached so much hate and bitterness against their fellow humans?

There are two ways of looking at that... They should go to a school of their faith so they are not taught things that are not presented in their whole, and can mislead them. But the other end of this is, Christians are supposed to witness to others, can't do that if you're in a private school.

If your faith is so tenuous that it can't stand in the light of differing views, then perhaps it is your faith that is the problem? Those who are so afraid of learning something have questionable beliefs to begin with. Cults are like that -- they only want their members exposed to their own propaganda.

Yes -- I have a vested interest in there being as few stupid people on the planet as possible.

Why punish kids because of their parents religions?

Of course! It's the only way to get a real education instead of indoctrination.
