Is a Rob Roy still a manly drink...?

I've never heard of this drink before. I would say it is "manly", simply because it contains scotch. I don't care if it is sweet or bitter. It can be manly, if you want it to be.

I would say the "manliest" drinks are those that smell like they could be used in place of paint remover, during a renovation. I believe these are bitters. They are generally consumed alone, making them very strong, thus "manly" (if we must apply some gender to a liquid).

Is it really "manly" to decide what you drink, wear or do by a silly gender label. If you are dying from a fast acting neurotoxin but find it in a pink bottle do you just leave and die manly? The whole manly bull is completely irrational. You follow logic as much humans are capable of, you don't bother with silly made up rules created for vanity and ego.

Oh my friend, I don't know that it never was, perhaps there was a time. It is more a ladies drink, it's sweet and manly drinks are not sweet. It's like a manhattan. Scotch neat or on the rocks is a manly drink.

not for me, because there is alcohol in it. frozen cherries instead ice cubes are a nice idea tho.

Actual manliness would be choosing your drink based on what you want to drink, not on imagined judgements by others.
