if you really believe that everything that happens is part of god's perfect plan, why do you pray for him to change it?

Nowhere in the biblee is there this notion of a perfect plan being played out. What the bible teaches is that all humanity should aspire to God's way of doing things. Which incidentally is why we're told to pray "Thy kingdom come, they will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven".
I pray for bad doctrine to go away.
I also pray that atheist learn the difference between the good and the bad.
Finally I pray for atheism to go away.

Trillions and trillions of prayers every day asking and begging and pleading for favors. 'Do this' 'Gimme that' 'I want a new car' 'I want a better job'. And most of this praying takes place on Sunday. And I say fine, pray for anything you want. Pray for anything. But...what about the divine plan? Remember that? The divine plan. Long time ago god made a divine plan. Gave it a lot of thought. Decided it was a good plan. Put it into practice. And for billion and billions of years the divine plan has been doing just fine. Now you come along and pray for something. Well, suppose the thing you want isn't in god's divine plan. What do you want him to do? Change his plan? Just for you? Doesn't it seem a little arrogant? It's a divine plan. What's the use of being god if every run-down schmuck with a two dollar prayer book can come along and **** up your plan? And here's something else, another problem you might have; suppose your prayers aren't answered. What do you say? 'Well it's god's will. God's will be done.' Fine, but if it gods will and he's going to do whatever he wants to anyway; why the **** bother praying in the first place? Seems like a big waste of time to me. Couldn't you just skip the praying part and get right to his will?

Reasons why prayer doesn't make sense:
1. God can already read your mind.
2. A perfect being would not be persuaded by an imperfect being with imperfect requests.
3. It is an insult to God, because you are implying he isn't doing a good enough job and you want him to do things differently. It implies you are ungrateful for what you have and want more. It also implies you know what's best for the future better than God.

Why do you think that IF You want to be extra lazy and not care who you hurt along the way that God should change you? We are all being tested to see IF we will Love others and keep Hate out of out lives! Those of us that do shall go to Heaven! Ones uncaring, with hate in them shall go to Hell!
Heaven is a place that is All Love! No Hate permitted!

Not all people do.
As for me personally, when I pray, it is more for my OWN sake. Because praying makes me feel closer to that love I know, and it will further motivate me to go out and fix things in my own life. Then again, I don't really believe in a traditional, intervening theistic god concept. Whatever we do, that is what God does.

The whole purport of this material creation is to give a chance to the conditioned souls to go back home, back to Godhead. That is His plan. The suffering is due to the stubborness of the foolish souls trying to make plans and arrangements for happiness which are only an illusion in this temporary and miserable world.

When we are born, we are in a plan, by satan, to lead us to destruction, and it is very elaborate. When you ask Jesus to be your lord & savior, you get God's perfect plan for your life, not the world's or satan's. There are things in place that no one can change as in the seasons, time, rotation of sun, the destruction of satan & his plan etc that no one can alter in any way. Study, it's all there in front of our faces, satan uses mind control in many forms, so we think it's not therebut it is..

Salaams.
i really do believe that everything that happens is part of God's Perfect Plan.
however, i don't pray for our LORD to change His Plan. nay. I pray that He might change ME to accept His Will no matter what. (Luke 22:42)(Dua).
hope this is helpful.

God's plan will happen no matter what we do - he'll USE what we do to fulfill it.
God knows exactly what we need...... but he confines us to pray, because if he haphazardly did us favors, we wouldn't know that it was him working in our lives.

As His beloved children - we are encouraged to bring all our hopes and dreams- concerns and plans to Him with trust and gratitude.
He wants us to ask for things in faith that He will deliver what is best in His perfect time.
He longs to bless and favor His kids- just as our parents do and when we ask and trust- He does just that:)
