5 HTP Users Only: What has your experience been?
I started 5 HTP two weeks ago, 50 mg twice a day on an empty stomach. So far, I haven't experienced anything different. Today I decided to increase my dosage to 100 mg twice a day. In some articles I've read, study participants took up to 300 mg or more three times a day, I certainly don't want to over do it but I don't want to waste time and money on too small a dose. Also, I've heard that you should stop 5 HTP after so many weeks of use.
From users only, what has your experience been, how much do you take, and did you at any point stop for awhile then resume dosing?
I have recently signed up for insurance, and I should be covered in about a month. I've not had insurance in years, so going to the doctor hasn't been an option. I will speak to him about 5 HTP but I would like to continue trying for results until then.
P.S. I know there is a condition that some people have developed while taking 5 HTP, a condition that it's believed is caused by a contaminant. I think I'm taking a pretty good brand, Jarrow Formula. It gets a lot of positive reviews as to it's quality. What brand do you use? Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't use it, nor recommend it. I have had a handful of patient try it, but have NEVER seen the results they're suggesting from it. The only people doing well with the stuff are the ones who are selling it and making a profit.
If you want to lose weight -- do it the right way. No gimmicks, fads, or junk. I always recommend Weight Watchers, and a fair amount of exercise at least 4-5 times a week.
Remember -- fast weight loss ALWAYS equals a FAST RETURN. Do it slowly, and change your way of eating and exercising if you want the results to last.
