What is the average cost of a TRANE 4 ton xl18i heat pump with a 5 ton air handler installed?
5 ton air handler to force heated or cooled air to second floor according to hvac salesman. Is this a standard practice?
@Gerrit. Gas not an option and wouldn't consider a heat pump in Michigan either. Thanks, though.

Don't get an air handler get a gas furnace instead because heat pumps break all the time that way if something happens to it you can just burn natural gas until a repair is made. The furnace does not have to be fancy ether just an 80% will do. I would not rely on any type of heat pump for the sole heating purpose without a backup you are just asking for freezing pipes and or headaches. Heatpumps are really nice though.
