Why does my power windows fuse keep blowing?

I have a 2008 special edition Chevy Cobalt. This winter, the power windows fuse just randomly started blowing. I thought it was because I used it quite abit to exit the parking ramp for work, but it's blown twice since then and I don't park in a ramp for work anymore. The last fuse only lasted about 4 weeks. The other fuse went about a month and a half. Any idea what is wrong or what I can do to fix it?

I do most of my own car work, going to school to get my mechanics license in the fall... I'm just not sure what's going on with this fuse!

You're lucky if some fuses doesn't blow. It's a technical component which can break down any time. Some easier than others. Keep a few extra in the car. Advice my dad gave me.

Take a careful look at the condition of the wire bundle going into the door. It could be damaged enough from chafing to cause shorting. Sometimes, just taping over any exposed wire (seeing the actual conductor copper) can cure it.

I would look at the window motor pulling to much amperage and thereby causing the fuse to blow. For the most part,a fuse will not blow for no reason.
