Christians, why are you so ignorant about The BIBLE?

Question

The BIBLE says to "Study to show thyself approved", and to "Always be prepared to give an answer."

2 Timothy 2:15 
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Peter 3:15 
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

For about a year, I have been using a different account, and asking a few questions that a Christian should have been able to answer, but almost no-one could. I only got 1 good answer, to 2 of the questions, Everything else was insults and damnation.

Being Christian isn't about knowing the Bible verbatim so that you can win debates with people who disagree with you.

Being Christian is a way of life emulating the teachings of Jesus.  Being Christian also means developing a personal relationship with God through prayer.  Of course we should study the Bible, but that's not our first priority in life.

So, you're wrong in assuming we should all know everything about the Bible.  There's a reason that we have Priests and Pastors and other religious leaders.

For some odd reason a lot of Christians don't even bother reading the Bible. It's a wonder why they slip from their faith at the first person challenging them.

Most Christians are entirely ignorant of the teaching of Jesus Christ because they don't read or care to understand the Bible.  And about half of the preachers, pastors, and priests have no clue either.
