Good plan to make my guy friend think of me more as potential-relationship-material?

-We haven't hung out yet but we're pretty good friends

-We walk together to some classes/after school & wait with our friends for the buses after school

-Almost allll of his friends are girls, & they all hang out but in GROUPS; they are also kinda my friends and they don't have feelings for him

-I used to be 90% sure he was gay but found out he used to have a girlfriend last year

-He compliments me a lottt! :) Like my skirt, texts, hair, smell of my hair lol, random things I say, etc.

-He asked me for my # first! But recently he has kind of sucked at texting

-We're in high school, he's a year younger

-We've had reallllyy deep conversations

Plan A. Hang out with our friends and him a couple times then sometime in the summer, call and ask him to hang out for a day downtown and at the park and have him assume it was kind of a date by the end.

Got a better plan? Should I do this before summer?
