Yellow rose tattoo?

So I went to a tattoo artist and told him I wanted roses like this in a tattoo. I like all the shading but I want yellow roses. He said basically that if we do that it will end up looking muddy and awful. He said we could do them with an outline and no gray shading. He did warn me as far as the life of the tattoo these roses would hold up better, and that yellow ink doesn't hold up well. My question is does anyone have experience with yellow ink and how it ages? What would you do? The yellow does have meaning since I'm from Texas but if it's going to look awful in a few years I'll pass.
