Critique my poem pretty please?!?

Before I met you

I was ruthless about grammar.

I was snobby about Oxford commas,

relentless toward the use of incorrect articles, unforgiving when it came to minor spelling mistakes.

But then you came along

With your alluring brown eyes, your irresistible smile, and your little grammatical errors.

So I made an exception and accepted the fact that you don't know the difference between "except" and "accept"

And I got the sense that you meant to say "since" whenever you said "sense"

Since it didn't make sense like that.

But my point is not to be condescending or remark on all of your nonexistent flaws.

What I'm trying to say is that suddenly, one of my greatest pet peeves transformed into something endearing...something perfectly incorrect. I learned from you that a person is more than the adjectives they choose. I learned that one's character is not to be judged by their skill in arranging letters.

What really matters, is not the presentation of one's thoughts, but the thoughts themselves.

What I failed to see before you is the raw, inaudible, meaning behind what someone wants to communicate to you when they speak or write. That is what really matters. The reason for their words.

I learned that it is an utter inequity to judge someone's intelligence based on their ability to form a sentence with an unmarred structure,

When their compassion for others

And the way they speak to children

And how they hold your hand when they drive

And kiss you when you're upset
