How long it will take for cutting scars to fade?

I'm really scared, please understand me before judging.I did it for the first time in my life. I just was too depressed that I wanted to harm myself in anyway or even commit suicide. I didn't use a knife or a razor. It was just a very sharp plastic, and it left some scars that was swollen for couple of minutes, no bleeding. Now they're just very thin scars and I'm HORRIFIED cause I read they would never fade. Please please tell me that isn't true. If someone saw them I'll be in big trouble.

I'm not judging you don't worry, I did the same thing for a while, felt the same way. For me, my scars haven't faded, but I used a razor blade and would like (not to sound gross or trigger you) saw at my own skin and make it bleed a lot. But if you didn't actually bleed, it shouldn't scar, but there might be that faint mark for a little while, nothing to worry about. It'll go away soon.

But seriously, you should try and quit. Cutting is one of the most addictively disgusting things ever. I know you haven't made yourself bleed yet, but if you keep just "scratching", you'll want more and more over time. Then you'll end up like me, with a wrist lined all the way to my elbow with those ugly faded lines that you'll be so self conscious about, even though no one has ever seen them on me. My favorite way to phrase it: Soon, you won't have an addiction, the addiction will have you.

Well chances are, you don't have intentions to do that again I hope. If it really was just plastic and didn't break the skin they'll fade over time with a healthy diet and plenty of water. They also have scar creams to reduce puffiness and discoloration. The best thing to do is just wait a little bit and say they're from a pet, and if they haven't faded in a few weeks to 2 months, look into other scar creams for helping fade it. If this happens again, go talk to someone and remember to give your body the respect it deserves.

I cut myself high school with various sharp objects...razor blades, thumbnails, glass shards, a bunch of stuff. I can still lightly see the scars 9 years later but no one else can so it could be me holding on to that memory. It took about 2 years to fade on my wrists. I have a lot on my inner thighs and they are still kinda visible.
