Is it true that GMU wont let you graduate with a gpa less than 3.0 gpa and why is it that some of the admissions people give wrong info?

I was told that by some guy who said the admissions office told him that. I find that odd considering that would mean most of the students I've known who have graduated and recently graduated from GMU did so with a gpa less than that. If a 3.0 was required then there would be far less students graduating from GMU.

He also stated that everyone is required to take a forein language. When I looked at the gen ed requirements for the bio degree there was nothing that said foreign language is required and yet he says it is true because the admissions office person said so. I also talked to the dean of the bio department, there is no language requirement.

To me, I think many of the admissions people do not know what they are doing or what they are talking about. I have been given wrong info before, I have found that the department gives the most accurate info when it comes to degrees.

Ben, you listened to "some guy who said the admissions office told him"? Yikes!

One of the major requirements for success in life is to develop the ability to recognize scams, frauds, and nonsense.

You did not get erroneous information from the Admissions office. You got it from "some guy who says etc". Not the same at all. I am glad that you had the sense to check out this rumor.
