As for movies that defined a generation I think The Social Network was this generation's movie. As for movies people still love and talk about Lord Of The Rings, Jurassic Park, Goodfellas, The Silence Of The Lambs, E.T, Jaws, Back To The Future, Ghostbusters and The Lion King are movies that have only become more loved as time passes. Most people will probably get any reference that comes from these movies
