Will my dog feel the same after getting 7 teeth pulled out?

Some of his front upper teeth where pulled out as well as some of his back teeth. He still has his canines. Hes a 4 year old Chihuahua.

I just want to know if he will feel the same as before or will it be really hard and awkward for him in the future?

He'll be fine. The vet will likely advise you to feed him soft food for the next 5 to 7 days (either tinned, or if he's used to dry, add hot water to it and mash it up for him).

He won't miss the small front teeth at all, but depending on how many of his back molars were removed, he might have a bit of trouble chewing hard food or cookies. See how he does, then make allowances if needed.

When I was a kid, our Chi lost every tooth in his head by the age of 7. He ate his tinned food just fine, and even managed to "gum" the occasional hard dog cookie. We just had to make sure everything was bite-size. And really, that's all dogs use their back teeth for--just making it small enough to swallow easily. Our Chi was his same old self--in fact, better, since for the first time in his adult life he didn't have painful gums.

I have a toy poodle who had to have about 30 teeth pulled. She only has about 6 teeth left.

Before surgery she was depressed, sulked around the house. Wouldn't greet anyone. We had all thought it was because she had just lost her owner (my grandpa) and this was her way of coping with it.

After surgery and a couple of days of rest, she was a whole new dog. Extremely happy, full of energy, greets everyone who walks through the door. She still eats fine, we try to let her kibble soak in the wet food for a bit before handing it to her.

Overall, her personality changed for the better.

Would you feel nice after having teeth pulled? He might feel a little soar for a while and you will havevtobchange his food and make sure that he is eating it, but in the furniture he will just be a normal dog... With no teeth :)

He'll be in pain for awhile and may have a bit of difficulty chewing his food, but at least you got him taken care of.

some medical conditions such as abcess may require tooth removal but it is for the better.... they always have wet food if it can no longer chew dry food.
