in a free society drugs, alcohol and sex should be a personal choice, not a governmental.

it has been shown to help people medically.

keeping it illegal costs the usa a lot of money and has created huge criminal empires.

It doesn't hurt anyone but the person smoking it.

If we legalize it then the US prison population will drop significantly.

It is healthier than smoking cigarettes (not sure if this one is true but it is one of the reasons they give).

Resources aimed at enforcement of laws banning its use are ineffective at limiting its use.

Those resources would be better spent on other measures to limit use, similar to the way tobacco and alcohol have been handled.

The ban has limited legitimate research on its effects because MJ is not readily available to researchers who would do studies.

It is not the burden of those for legalization to give their reasons. It is for the government to give viable reasons to justify its encroaching upon the rights of its citizens.
