Did you ever want to friend someone on FB without knowing him?

One of the people from my FB friend list (not a close friend, just someone I know) recently friended someone whom I found very interesting... And I'd really like to get to meet him too. But I know that if I friend this person, he will have all the reasons in the world to call me a freak, because even I would think that of myself if I was in his shoes. Did you ever want to do something like that? In other words, am I the only one to have this sort of "first world problems"? ;)
