How to fix a windshield chip.?

Well it's probably not the kind of chip you are thinking about, it's more of a gouge, there are no cracks but glass is missing. It's really small, about the thickness of a penny in diameter.

What can I do to fix it?

Call a windshield guy quickly, before cracking starts and spreads. As long as it's not directly in front of the drivers vision he will seal it with a clear and permanent glue. Cost should be much less than a new windshield (almost certain to be needed if the chip isn't fixed); your car insurance may even pay for such a repair with no deductible if you call them first.

What can you do to fix it? Over 75% of questions on any subject, any part of a car is asked by teen owners as to "hot to fix it." Can you fix a refrigerator? That would be the AC in a car. Can you fix a window? A crack in the glass? That would be any glass surface in a car. I could go on but the point has been made. No one but certified experts can repair much of anything in a car. The specialist as to glass work at Auto Glass shops all over the nation and the planet. Perhaps you have seen the ads on TV? Go to an auto glass business. That is "how to fix it" gets answered. Depending on regulations as to location and size and type of the damage the chip can be repaired or the entire windshield needs to be replaced.

Safelite glass, and other glass companies have a special epoxy, and special applicator to fill in chips in glass, and make them almost unnoticeable, insurance often covers it for free because it can prevent the windshield from cracking and getting worse.
