Why is there no proof of God?
How would you describe; faith without proof vs. faith with proof? I would describe it as; trust vs. fact. Why is there no proof of God? Which do you think a loving God would want? You to believe in Him because you trust Him, or to believe in Him because of a fact?
God wants a relationship with you. Trust vs. fact; which of those is more useful in a relationship?

There is proof. Just ask god to reveal himself to you. It's that simple. Do it humbly.

because of the proof for the big bang producing an ordered universe
or an egg coming from nowhere and ''expanding'' into a vast and ordered universe

Religion depends on faith, not fact. If there was proof of God, everyone would believe, so true religion can never be based on facts or proof.

Why is there no evidence that Bigfoot is real?
Be cause he is *imaginary*. Now try that with god.
There you go!

He sent proof with his magical slingshot but he over shot and it landed in the next solar system.

Should start with why there is not even a shred of evidence yet let alone a proof.
Also, "faith with proof" is nonsense; "faith" by definition is belief without evidence thus requires complete trust. Once you have a shred of evidence, it is no longer faith but belief -- and once you have a proof it becomes fact.
Proof does not equate to evidence and is only obtained by means of direct observation, derivable data by means of direct proof, or another formal proof method.
Since Christians like to pretend being smart and claiming faith, they cannot at the same time claim evidence unless (1) they are misusing terms or (2) they are being willfully dishonest.
"If God is after someones heart, why would He waste time with their head?"
This makes the prior assumptions of your Gods existence which you and your supposed deity have failed to provide. I also suspect you have misread some of the above.
What you should be asking since you seem to be so sure -- is why is it that the only evidence found suggests that this "God" thing is all in your head?
"You still have not answered the question."
Post a good question then. I addressed the above - it is not my fault if you do not like or want to accept the answer provided.
It is equivalent to asking one about Harry Potter as if he was still walking the Earth -- yes, your question really is this stupid.
"why is it that you think you don't believe?"
I don't "think" I don't believe - I don't believe. Period. No Christian has ever provided a clear definition of a god; always changing their stories around; thousands of denominations fighting against each other; and the fact that all studies conducted not only support that its all a mental disorder -- but that praying to your imaginary friend is the equivalent to talking to a rock.
Why not ask the many faith healers who prayed for their children to be cured rather then taking them to the hospital how their "faith" reworded them? Guess what happened to their children, I dare you to guess.
If you understand why you don't believe in the many other thousands of made up gods you should understand why its easy for us not to also believe in yours.
"Humor me this last time"
Typical Christian. You really think its all just a game that people have died for your imaginary friend have you? Or how about the fact that Christians happily go around, burning people alive and stoning children to death all because of different beliefs?
I wont bother with you anymore - you go on continue worshiping your Hitler fantasy of a god but leave the rest of us out of it.
@Zach : You cannot ask an imaginary being to reveal them self. You have to "force" yourself to believe; that is not a path way to truth and understanding. I assert it being imaginary due to all scientific papers revealing it is all in your mind and nowhere else.
I emphasis the term "force" above since most Christians tend to believe that you can "pick" and "choose" your beliefs which implies forcing yourself into a specific belief system rather then letting evidence and reason decide.

*IF* a real god existed and he wanted me to know he existed, he would know exactly how to convince me he existed... *IF* he wanted me to know he existed.
The very fact he hasn't convinced me results in one of two assumptions...
Either he doesn't care OR
He is imaginary.
