There is no idiot rule for rechargeable devices. Some devices will shut off the charger automatically when the device has reached full charge and others will reduce the chaging power and others will cook the battery by continued and wasteful full current charging action. Well made devices shut of. Read the specificati9on before you buy.

Modern shavers have automatic charging systems. When plugged in, they charge the battery and then cycle off to protect the battery from overcharging.
Provided the battery pack is in good working condition, an overnight charge should last for weeks.
