Does the FIFA 2022 bid for Qatar remind anyone else of the IOC 2002 Winter Olympics bid for Salt Lake City?

After the bid is award accusations of corruption come out. I would be interested to find out if Qatar has another ending or if we all hang Bin Hammam out to dry and give the world cup back to Europe, Australia or wherever again.

Do you think Qatar will keep the World Cup?

Isn't Qatar smaller than some US counties?

How many cities and stadiums do they even have?

    Is FIFA crazy?

    Answer the last one first.

Salt Lake kept the Olympics. I don't see how it moves. FIFA is an organization accountable to no one. Potentially the only thing they are accountable are member organizations, or the viewing public. The member organizations are corrupt, and the viewing public will watch if it was going to be hosted on the moon.
