How much does motorbike insurance cost?

I'm getting a cruiser type motorbike when i'm 17. I won't be driving it a lot, so i thought this might bring down the insurance... :? but anyway i want to know roughly how much the insurance will set me back. i have a £1600 budget at the moment, i'm wondering whether i can get a bike (maybe second hand) and insurance for a year with that kind of money. Also that includes driving lessons (how much would they cost for a bike) and license (how much does that cost for a bike) Preferably if you're answering this it would be good if you had first hand experience of getting a bike yourself! Thanks :)

    Lessons (CBT)- £100

    Insurance - £900-£1200

Clothing (Leathers or padded trousers and jacket, helmet, gloves, boots) - £300 up to whatever you like really.

    L plates - £5.00

You're gonna need to find a bike around £250, or find a higher budget.

Went through all of this with my son last year. Because he had zero experience, I bought him a new bike because it was safer, cost around £2300.
