what do you think of these solutions?

So let's say your city was experiencing a major influx of homeless people. How would you rather your city deal with them? The spike are being used all over London and around Asian cities. While below there's a link with an example of how an American city has proposed handling the problem. Would you rather live among them? Have them asking for money every time your at the ATM? Have them sleeping on your front steps and digging in your garbage?

The London 'solution' is no solution at all. It's a way to avoid the real issue. The American approach is at least realistic. Seems to me the first task is determining who among the homeless actually wants to improve themselves and their situation and focusing on getting them to work. Any kind of job is better than no job. And then build from there. No it's not easy but it's the right thing to do.

For those who won't help themselves? Hell, you tell me because that's over my head.

I'm sure Arizona is dealing with this problem now that the Obama administration is dumping hundreds. The border is next door. If people are homeless there are services it's a matter of looking for that aid. I went to some classes with a homeless guy believe it or not he preferred it.

These spikes aren't a solution to homelessness. All they do is move homeless people somewhere else, that being the entire point of the spikes.

I guess I don't understand what the cones do. I believe it was in New Mexico where they declared a war on homelessness, assigning counselors to get people somewhere to live, which turned out to be the most important thing about integrating them back into society. Their policies have been very effective at reducing their homeless population, especially homeless vets.

Glad I live in a country where there are no homeless people.

Unfortunately, 6 mo. Or more on the streets can cause mental illness. Stop focusing on gun control, and deal with mental health.

All those spikes will do is attract an army of fakirs who find such mattresses extremely comfortable.

Give them jobs, make it easier for them to find homes to start their lives

I think shelters are a good way to go.
