How can I gain exposure to the physical therapy field?
So I can't decide whether I want to do physical therapy or become a registered nurse. I know that for those wanting to get an idea of how nursing will be like can decide to do a certified nursing assistant program & get certified from there but what about physical therapy ??? I want to get an idea on how it's like.

Read everything you can and learn about the field. Make sure you understand what you might be getting into.
I would recommend doing observation hours/shadowing at multiple facilities to get a big picture of what is involved in the field. Call a skilled nursing facility, an outpatient clinic, a hospital, a peds clinic. Explain what your purpose is and they will probably let you come in and observe. If they don't, try another one. See more than one type of place and ask a lot of good questions. Good luck.

Go to the national PT website www.apta.org. They have great videos and references. Then if still interested call a local PT practice and ask to come in and volunteer and shadow. We have people shadow all of the time at our practice.
