why is everyone slating Rooney and not Gerrard?
Gerrard is the captain and as captain he hasnt ever put in a good performance against decent opposition. He was schooled by pirlo yesterday but all anyone goes on about is how rooney didnt score so he should be dropped, even though his world class cros was the reason england score. Yet everyone thinks rooney is the new heskey and the sun shines out of gerrards backside just because the media says so rather than actually watching the matches.

I don't see how one can say he was schooled by Pirlo. People will say anything to put Gerrard off, Pirlo did not even have a good game. He turned the ball over many times with his passes, his moments of magic were the Dummy on Daniel Sturridge for Marchisio's goal, and the free kick that nearly went in. But he did not have a good game. Pirlo is a real nightmare when he really does have a good game.

I didn't think Gerrard was that bad. But Rooney just looked as though he didn't care was very disappointed with him I spent a lot of time defending him before the game thinking we would see the best of him but looked lazy and stroppy to me
